How do sessions work?

Pick how long you want to focus, from 15 to 120 minutes, and choose the apps you want held. Lumi uses Apple's Screen Time controls on your own phone to keep those apps shut until the timer ends. Everything else on your phone works as normal.

A Flexible session ends whenever you tap End, and the apps release straight away. A Commitment session stays locked until the timer does. Finished sessions earn XP, which you can spend on things for Lumi's room.

How do I stop a Commitment session in an emergency?

Open Lumi, tap Emergency access under the timer, and hold the circle for five seconds. Your apps release right away. The minutes you did are kept for your own record and nothing is taken from you. Lumi only ever holds the apps you picked, so calls, messages and everything you didn't choose stay reachable throughout.

What data stays on my phone?

All of it. Your onboarding answers, sessions, XP and Lumi's room are stored on your device. The list of apps you hold never leaves the phone: Apple's Screen Time controls run on the device itself, and we can't see it. There is no account in this version, so deleting the app deletes your data.

The one thing that can leave the phone is anonymous usage data: which screens you use and how sessions go, never your name, anything you typed or your app list. It goes to PostHog on a server in the EU, and you can switch it off from your profile under Privacy, with the toggle Share anonymous usage data. Lumi works the same either way.
